Kitchen closed......

my kitchen is sort of closed. I've pretty much stuck to the weekly plan, but see all these dishes in the fridge?
they contain leftovers from Sunday's roast beef, Monday's baked pasta, Tuesday's burgers and hot links and Weds. pizza.
So tonight, we had leftovers for supper and made a pretty big dent in them. I expect we will finish them off tomorrow and then it will be back to regular cooking.

And I have to confess that I did do just a little cooking today. When I organized the fridge space, I came across the 6 egg whites left from the chocolate icebox pie on Sunday. I did not want to let them spoil so I baked 1/2 a recipe of Angel Food Cake.
I will post the pie recipe soon.

  2. Wow your fridge is so nice and neat. Where are all the condiments and such? Some weeks I also have lots of left overs and don't like to waste either....I eat a lot of leftovers for lunch and dinner.

  3. I love it when I have enough leftovers to take a day or two off from cooking.

All the Pyrex containers looks so cool and vintage!

  6. Since it's just my husband and me now (unless the grands come over) and I can't seem to cut recipes down very well, I usually cook 3 or 4 times a week - then we have leftovers for a few days. It certainly makes for quick meals.

  7. Your leftovers are so neat!!! I've just got to find some more pyrex. We've been using our leftovers lately and trying to cook less, but we still have to throw some out.

  8. Leftovers can be just as good or better than when you first make them! I don't know why that is. Maybe all the flavors have time to intermingle better or something. :)
