Mondays bargains

I rarely shop at Walgreens anymore as their deals got really complicated when they introduced their points system along with register rewards and their customer cards. But I earn $1 a month at Walgreens with walking steps counted on my FitBit and had recently got an email that I could redeem $5 there. Yes, walking is good for you but you won't get rich doing it.
Then I read about this Purex B1G2free with some printable coupons so here is how I did.
6 bags of Purex 18 count laundry detergent - just $4.04 after sale price, coupons and rewards redemption.

CVS
Mitchum was $1.99 and I had $1 coupons on each
Ajax was 88 cents minus the 39 cent coupon I got at the scanner
Razor blades were $10.49 and I had 2 $3 coupons- I needed to spend at least $25 to get a $10 ECB - so I bought 3 even though I did not a coupon for every one.

I had a $10 ECB from last week and I got a $3.50 ECB at the scanner.

I always scan my CVS card when I enter the store for the print out coupons and deals.
Total spent $14.44 and I am got back another $10 ECB for my next shopping trip.

  1. I don't shop at Walgreens very much either. Plus there prices went up quite a bit here. Great job on your bargain shopping. I love when I can work a deal like that.

    1. Our CVS is only a year or so old and our town is not huge, CVS is only 4 miles from our home. Makes it nice and I am really thankful.

  3. I use to shop at Walgreen weekly but like you I think things became a little complicated. I decided that the savings wasn't worth the hassle. Great deal on the detergent!

  5. I'd say that was well worth it! I agree about the complicated stuff...I looked into it a while back and decided not to even start.

  6. Good job on your bargain shopping! I used to shop at all 3 drugstores back in the day and CVS is still my favorite! However, the closest CVS is on the other side of town so I do Rite Aid deals a couple times per month when they have something we use at a great price. Rite Aid is on my way to other places so it makes sense to shop there!

Last week I got free toothbrushes after UP rewards and this week I used $6 rewards and got 2 dish soaps, 3 rolls paper towels and a bottle of Shout for less than $2 out of pocket plus $1 UP rewards.

    1. Great deals Mary Ann. I don't think Rite Aid is even in my state yet. I try to do my errands together or when I have other things to do and add errands to the trip. My town is not big though.

  7. When I worked at the other branch and would go home through town I passed a Wal-Greens and CVS. (there is a road, burger place and alley between them) I had gotten their cards but now I rarely go. I really should look into their deals tho. You get such good ones!

  10. You did great with your bargain shopping Rhonda! I haven't been doing my usual CVS deals lately. Have $10 EB in my pocketbook that I gotta use before it expires. Probably get some diapers.
