Aldi Seedtastic bread- a copy of Dave’s Killer Bread

Good morning everyone,
Evelyn at http://blessedinbowie.blogspot.com/ asked about the Aldi bread we like that is a match to Dave’s Killer Bread but is only about half the price.
The Seedtastic bread is $3.99 at my Aldi and the Dave’s bread was $6.99 at my Sprouts.
These are not low cost breads by any means.  And if seeds are a digestive problem for you,  this bread is not for you either.

Only my husband and I are eating this and we really like it.  It has 5 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per slice.
Eating 2 pieces for breakfast keeps us full until lunch.
This is a dense type bread- it may be fine for sandwiches but we’ve only had it toasted so far.

We toast it on the griddle that came on our gas stove we bought 4 years ago.  I never used this griddle until our toaster oven broke.  Now I use it several times a week and it makes the best toast and toasted sandwiches.
I have more counter room with the toaster oven gone too.
So it was a win-win situation but I feel a bit silly for not trying the griddle sooner.

We are retired and on days like today when we don’t have grandchildren here,  we eat when we feel like it.
Today it was almost 1000 when we had breakfast.

  1. I am trying to change my email address to a new one and see nowhere to do that. I cannot even find where I signed up in email to get it. I love reading it and do not want to miss out. Please change my email to jwalker506@yahoo.com or tell me how to do it. thank you, judy walker

  2. That toast looks delicious! We do the same thing here. Most mornings we don't have breakfast until between 9 and 10.

  3. Thank you for posting the name of the bread, I will try a loaf next time we go to Aldi. I like Killer Dave's Bread toasted for breakfast, as sandwich makings too, but my absolute favorite is toasted, about a quarter of an avocado spread over it, and a fried egg on top, with chia seeds sprinkled over it. Deelish!

  4. A friend gave us some killer bread. My husband likes it. I'm going to check at Aldi here in Missouri.

  5. Thanks for posting this since I had no idea that Aldi made a version of Dave's! I will definitely check my Aldi next time to see if they stock it too!
Glad to see that I am not the only one not replacing a broken toaster - haha! Although we don't have a griddle...we just end up using the broiler setting on the oven to "toast" things now.

  7. I love the thoughts of it keeping you full so long. I'll look for it the next time we get to Aldi's. We buy their gluten free bread and the price and taste are perfect.

  8. We don't have Aldi's here, but Dave's Killer Bread is right across the street from Bob's Red Mill--close enough to visit every few months. I've been a couple of times, and remember it being cheaper because it is an outlet for the factory. I can't eat wheat in any form, so buy all my husband's bread. He loves that seedy bread, and sometimes I'll get some when I go up that direction.

  9. My husband loves Dave's killer bread(his work gets it) but it is so expensive. I will have to try the Aldi version. We don't buy a lot of bread because I either make it or my son brings leftovers home from work. I started a blog and hope you stop by for a visit.

  10. I've seen that Aldi version but hadn't tried it. Maybe I'll give it a go, since you say it's tasty. It looks delicious toasted! (I'm Cat from Frugal Living and Crafting. Can't get it to let me post under my Word press account.)

  11. This is my husband's favorite bread. I buy it at Aldi all the time and keep it in the freezer. We like that it's nutritious and doesn't have any nasty fillers like most breads (soybean oil, high fructose corn syrup).

  12. I found a loaf of Nature's Own Sprouted Seed Bread yesterday, and since it is half the price of the Dave's, gave it a try. It's not bad, it will do for now, but it will never be Killer Bread.
