Hello everyone,
recovering from Salmonella took my husband a lot longer than either of us expected.
But he is finally feeling almost normal except for feeling more weak and tired than before he got sick.
I working on that second scrap quilt. I’ve been tying it on the big dining table- this table isn’t really big enough but I’m just using what I have. And it’s fine.
Maybe I will make my goal of getting them both finished by the end of this month.
Here’s the to do list I started Monday.
I’ve done some of it and some of either didn’t get done or will happen as the week goes on.
I did go to Dollar General to stock up on laundry products while they had good coupons on them. But when I tried to check out, none of my coupons subtracted. The 2 clerks said maybe it was because the first day of the sale and I could try again later in the week. I was polite but I didn’t buy a thing. Dollar General may just be off my list of stores where I shop. I don’t like doing errands and gas is too expensive for fruitless errands.
Next door to that DG is a big thrift store with good prices. One of our granddaughters needs some sewing help with a Halloween outfit.
this is her inspiration photo- she bought a similar blue plaid skirt with shorts attached for $1 at Walmart. We found some fabrics in my sewing stuff for the hanging down parts. But she really wanted some reddish plaid too.
| If you’ve shopped for fabric lately, these 2 shirts are much cheaper than buying fabric by the yard. |
Sunday, I was thinking about meals for the week and I wrote out this list really quick.
It uses ingredients we had on hand.
We haven’t eaten everything exactly as written but it’s been very helpful and we have ate all our meals at home.
After the salmonella, we are neither one too eager to eat out anyway.
hopefully I didn’t put any of you to sleep ready this very non-exciting post.
Tomorrow, I’ll look in the freezer and see what looks good and make another list. |
❤️Rhonda
It is almost 7 am where I live, so no, sleeping is done. Your menu list gave me some ideas as well. It is easy to get in a rut with menus. Good to hear your husband is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I tend to forget what we have on hand and then think we need to order or go buy something. Yesterday I looked in the freezer and we have a good bit of food. It gave me ideas for what to cook now
DeleteHello Rhonda glad to see you back, glad hubby is feeling better. The grands sure get you some adventures. Hope when she's done with her costume you will share pictures.
ReplyDeleteTracey
thank you Tracey. I will share the skirt when I finish it, hopefully I can share a picture with her wearing it, but she’s funny about that at times.
DeleteGlad you husband is improving. That is a pretty quilt top.
ReplyDeleteHow fun on the skirt - I kind of like it!
Have a lovely weekend.
thank you Cheryl. I like the skirt too.
Deletehope you have a wonderful weekend too
I adore your scrap quilt. I would never have an idea where to begin to do that!
ReplyDeleteGlad your husband is doing better. That has been a long healing process.
thank you lejmom. it’s been a hard 3 weeks for him.
DeleteThis quilt was easy as far as quilting projects go, if you have any sewing experience, it would be very doable
I wonder why at times the pictures one takes of something show an entirely different colour. Took a picture of my weaving and instead of a deep purple it is a royal blue colour.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I have no idea 🤷🏻♀️ just something else to keep us on our toes. but it does happen and probably more often than we imagine
DeleteI appreciate you put out there what a normal week looks like for normal people.
ReplyDeleteI love your scrap quilt.
Disappointing about Dollar General.
I had to smile at your little joke about not being to keen to go out to eat. I don't blame you!
