Sepia Saturday - one day late

These are pictures of my dad, he mostly grew up in Garber, Oklahoma. Dad is the
3rd boy in this picture, sadly, he says his other 3 buddies have all passed away.

He spent lots of time swimming at the Garber pool.

This is his high school football team, Dad is holding the football on the front row.
Garber has always called itself "Home of Champions" and it is still true, Garber won the class B state football championship in December and last night they won the basketball championship.

Sepia Saturday was yesterday but I am a day late as I came down with a terrible stomach bug/food poisoning or something. And I am very thankful to be better now!

  5. What a handsome Dad! Did he get to hold the football because he was the captain?
How interesting that you once lived in my town (Fallbrook,CA., or at least next door in Camp Pendleton). Would love to hear some of your memories.

  6. Yes, Rhonda's dad is a handsome one and was a standout in football. He has been a great husband for 58 years as well as a dad, grand-dad and soon to be great grandpa - my hero! Mom

  7. Rhonda...it is a small world! My daddy graduated from Garber High school in 1936!! He grew up in the Fairmont area. I used to spend a few days each summer with my aunt that lived in Garber and she would take me to the pool there! I love your blog by the way!!
