the week in review

the tulips, jonquils and flowering plum are all blooming
in our front yard

 plastic jelly bean egg

Gavin and Bobby spent the night here Friday night
Gavin says he likes Uncle Bobby's beard shorter.

I found this cabbage roses fabric on clearance at Walmart.

I intended to just buy a couple yards but
I liked it so much as the clerk was unrolling it.....
I just bought the whole bolt.
It is a very nice fabric,
American made even!

the fabric reminds me of my anniversary roses

I found this foam chair at the thrift store.
He is very worn so I took off the Pooh cover
and am attempting to pin on a
new cover to sew up.
I am usually fearless with fabric but
this project is trickier than it looks.
Gavin and Elizabeth -
we are working on learning
to share
but it may be a while
until we have it mastered.

  1. Your tulips are beautiful!!! Ours are up but not blooming. Have daffodils and a few other things blooming. Several years ago my son and husband planted over 2,000 tulip bulbs by the front fence. We had a beautiful color display for several weeks. People from town would drive out. But the 2nd year only bout 200 came up and finally zero. The moles had a buffet. Would love to redo it again but... even when 75% off bulbs it still added up.

Kids look so comfortable in shorts. Wishing spring would get here.

I like that material too. Anxious to see what you will do with it. I am sure you will figure out the pooh seat without much trouble.

    Take Care!

  4. Hi Rhonda,
You are so blessed to be seeing flowers and blossoms already, our snow is melting quickly, just not quickly enough, I am getting impatient.
I love that fabric! I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
Your little grands are so adorable. You sound like you are the kind of grandma that I am. When I was growing up my grandmas lived thousands of miles away from me, Oklahoma and Illinois, and we lived in Northern Washington then up in Northern BC, Canada. When we did see our grandmas they were distant and not real loving, I made up my mind when my kids began to have children, that when I had grand kids I would be the kind of grandma that I wished that I had had. And I think I am, my grand kids let me know all the time how much they love me. You are also that kind of grandma.
    Hugs, Cindy
