Our mantle I was inspired by Manuela to paint the mirror frame black and I really like it. |
that pink tree bought on clearance about 4 years ago We've used it for Christmas, Valentines and Easter too. |
Close up of some or the ornaments. My mom did the crocheted egg covers. I did the cross stitch and plastic canvas ones. |
I am hoping to do a plastic egg wreath for the front door. I have wanted one for years but never got around to making one. So, since I've blogged it, hopefully I will make one soon. I've seen several tutorials for how to make them. One type says to just use a wreath shape cut from an a big box for the base. The others say to use a straw or styrofoam wreath for the base.
Any of you visitors made one and have any advice for me?
Very cute! Glad I could provide some inspiration - it looks great black.
ReplyDeleteNo, never made a egg wreath before but plastic eggs are very light so I don't see why you would need a base like a straw wreath. I often make my own wreath shapes from cardboard or even poster board.
Hi Rhonda ~ I love your Easter decorations; they look so cheerful and "springy"! Sorry, I'm not very crafty so I don't have any advice for your wreath.
ReplyDeleteLove your Easter decorations, Rhonda!
ReplyDeleteLovely mantel decor! I put out a few little things on my foyer table, this week, too! Seems like the styrofoam or straw wreath would be a better base than a flat piece of cardboard. I hope you post a photo when you're done! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have any advice on the wreath but wanted to tell you that your decorations are great!! My favorite part of the Mantel is the baby!! What a blessing! And I love your tree!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Easter decorations are gorgeous and Baby Andie on the mantle surely symbolizes Easter. Think a flat surface would be better for Easter egg wreath. Was fun visiting with you and Elizabeth today.
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are so cute, I haven't gotten a single thing up yet :( Congrats on your grand getting fat and sassy!!
ReplyDeleteLove your Easter decorations! And your granddaughter makes the mantle even more beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLoved being able to stop in and celebrate Easter with you. :-) I just adore your pink tree! And what a joy it must be to see Andie starting to grow!
ReplyDeleteI would use a straw wreath. Cardboard would not hold us well if it gets wet in those April showers.
Hugs from Holland ~
Heidi
There is a tutorial for egg wreath on my Pinterest board under Easter.
