Prettied up storage shelves

Inspired by Manuela's shower pantry  thank you!

I've been getting so many good deals, mostly at CVS and a few at Walmart, and I needed more storage. I remembered a very cute plastic shelf unit, decorated with pretty papers, stocked with canned goods and hidden away in an unused shower from Manuela's old blog. And here is my version. I put in the silly-big master bedroom closet.

The shelf unit I ended up with is bigger I think than Manuela's.  I decorated mine with cushiony shelf paper and the lace is strips cut from the by the yard tablecloth vinyl in the fabric department at Walmart.

This is the middle 2 shelves. It has 4 total. I don't shop in the same quantities as the TV extreme couponers but it does seem like I have a years worth of hair products, soaps and dental products.
And a lot of toilet paper.........
Above you can see part of the top shelf

And below is a close up of the gingham check shelf paper bought at Dollar Tree
And the vinyl tablecloth strips used for the border.

This is the best full length photo I could get, it is a closet and I could not get any farther away to get the whole shelf in one picture.
The orange cord is from my husbands drop light I brought in to get better light for the photo. There is no natural light in the closet.

I suppose there are lots of people that like to fill up their closets with clothes and fancy handbags - I prefer our closet to look like a drugstore :)

  2. That looks so great! I love the shelf paper and lace edging!

I'm in the process of making a new pantry. I'm using a utility closet that's close to the kitchen. I'm thrilled to not have to go far to get what I need!

  3. Lots of good storage! Speaking of toilet paper ~ does it seem to you that the cardboard roll is bigger around now resulting in less paper on the roll?

    1. It seems to me that the whole roll is at least an inch or 1 1/2 inches shorter than a roll used to be. I don't think the roll is rolled as tight as it used to be either. A roll just doesn't last very long.

  6. Just wanted to say, I love the name of your blog! During the day when I get distracted and doing something that is a waste of time, I find myself saying "if you do stuff, stuff gets done"!! Then I get back on track with what I need to be doing :) So thank you!

    1. Hi Mother B, you are sweet and I am glad you like my blogs name. Several other readers have said the same thing, that they repeat the if you do stuff....when they are needing to get things done.

  7. I love your prettied up shelves.

We keep a small stock of bathroom supplies, too. However we are currently trying to work them down by or tasting them out.

  8. Very nice! Funny how we all seem to "hoard" toilet paper. :) When I find a good buy I stock up. Like you we also easily have a year supply of toiletries and toothpaste and I've hardly spent anything for them. I keep my overflow in a plastic bin with a lid.

  9. Your toilet paper stash reminds me of my moms...she has enough stashed for a month, I swear. Well this took me back to the day ( and I think I was a kid or a tween or something ) when Johnny Carson created some toilet paper shortage by joking that there WAS one, and everyone believed him and ran out to stock up / thus creating the shortage.
I have to go google that and figure out how old I was then...I know that it was my MOM stocking up and believing the whole thing but I don't know if I was in middle school or high school or what!
