Almost 5 years ago, I was cleaning the hall bathroom and noticed the white shower curtain bar was not too white anymore. It was chipped and had rust spots it. I wanted to get a new one but chose to just refresh that old one with some spray paint until I could go shopping,
Surprisingly, that quick paint job is still holding up and matches my new toile shower curtain just fine.
In the bottom picture, the curtain has been ironed and the black ties added to each ring.
My advice - if you get a new shower curtain, iron it before you attach it to the shower liner with 12 rings and ribbon ties, just saying!
I take most all my photos with an iPad and the lighting makes the colors look different. The curtain is black and cream toile, the wall paint is pale yellow.
So pretty!! :) Love that curtain!
ReplyDeletethank you Carla. I got it on Ebay, NIP even though it was made in 2002.
DeleteI know you have an iron with all the sewing you do.
I don't even own an iron! :)
ReplyDeletereally Tracy? not even for Alfred's military uniforms? I have one and must confess I use it often. I guess I am old school :)
DeleteIt looks great! I use my iron a lot too. Gotta love those crisp lines:)
ReplyDeleteLooks snazzy!
ReplyDeleteI love it when other folks talk like I do;-)
DeleteMy iron and I are attached at the hip, LOL. Come to think of it, the sewing machine is on the other hip. Such a pretty shower curtain...the dude just might go for black. He is still having a problem with our new 'frilly' chairs;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to your old blog, gosh I never knew about that one. Going to read your archives.
blessings, jill
You know I love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat temporary solution! ; )
ReplyDeleteI love the shower curtain! Black and white with yellow is so pretty.
ReplyDeletePS - I hit the send button too soon...I also wanted to say that I love that unique window in your bathroom, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty room!! Spray paint is a wonderful thing!!
ReplyDeleteyou have VERY good taste.
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'....because my kitchen valances are black and cream toile :)
I think it looks great! I did a curtain rod a few years ago for above the kitchen sink. It's been a long time since I painted it and it's held up beautifully. Not so with the other curtain rods in the room. I don't think they lasted three months before they started chipping. I am going to buy new paint and go over them...hmmm...I think the difference was the first can was flat paint and the second wasn't.
ReplyDeleteI have an iron...it stays in a box and comes out maybe once a year for about five minutes. Direct result of having been assigned the chore of ironing family laundry way back in the 70s when every single thing was cotton and there were six uniforms or outfits per each of five people in our household. I would end up ironing for HOURS on a Saturday. No fun. Nope.
So pretty! I never thought of spray painting the curtain rod! You clever girl!
ReplyDeleteI love your shower curtain! It looks so pretty too with the yellow!
