Back to my list

I've been a list maker all my adult life but It has been 3 weeks since I made my last weekly to do list.
I am feeling good and motivated and ready to get back to my normal.

Maybe you all know about the vast product line of Erin Condren life planners, I just discovered them, and apparently just writing out a list on whatever paper you have is not enough.  You need a fancy personalized book with Washi tape and stickers and tabs to it all right.
I think it is a great idea but it sounds like a job in itself to just keep it all up.  I won't be doing Erin Condren.

I wrote out my list night and thought I could attempt to make it pretty.  My husband is used to me doing lots of crafts and fixing things up but when I told him I was going to decorate my to-do list, he looked at me like I was daffy and said "you're gonna do what?"

So,  here is my decorated to do list.  I just used some rubber stamped designs on plain ole notebook paper.

Now it's time to keep working on this list!
Have a good Monday everyone!

  1. Your list is cute! I thought I was the only one who did not use a "list system". I have a small note book, on my sewing/desk table, that I use. It works for me….LOL

    1. Hi Coleen, oh I like the fancy list systems but I just think they would take up too much time and money. Simple works for us!

  2. Oh it looks beautiful. I should try that maybe I would do even more!
Erin Conden sounds pretty but like you said another thing to do!
    Have a great Monday~

    1. Thank you Vickie, if you are like me, you don't need one more thing to do either.

  3. I have a notebook. In fact I have a few notebooks, because I easily misplace them, so instead of feeling like I can't make out my list until I find my notebook, I decided to just have three just for list purposes and be okay with it. I get my lists done and I no longer feel guilt for not finding one special notebook. They are all prettier on the outside than just a plain color, but the inside is regular ruled paper. They're about a dollar or so more, but I just have to have some kind of pretty for my mind. I like the stamp idea. I'll consider doing that. It doesn't take a lot of time, and it makes a big difference in the joy of getting that list done. Thanks again for your ideas.

  4. LOL! Erin Condren stuff is so cute but it is waaay over priced in my opinion. But people that are into planners love washi tape, stickers and different kinds of pens. I can't get into all that - seems like it would take more time to write in my planner than to actually do the things I have planned.

    1. Hi Manuela, I forgot about the sets of multicolor matchy pens and markers needed to Erin Condren. I haven't priced EC but I can only imagine how much time it would take.

    1. Hi Angela,
Thank you, I like clipboards too. I used one all through high school and college. I do remember the coaches carrying around clipboards too :)

  6. I've seen all those cute planners, and they look so fun. But I know me. I'd play with the fun stuff and never make a list and never get anything done. I do much better with just plain old paper!

    1. Hi Susan, I agree that those fancy planners look fun but like you, I will stay away from them and keep my efforts to work I need to do.

  7. We are so much a like!!!! All my blogging and homeschooling friends keep telling me I need to buy this planner or that planner. Well, I like making my own lists and planner pages because I know me and there is a lot that would be wasted if I spent the money on them. I also wanted to let you know, I made your bun recipe two weeks ago in my poor old KitchenAid and loved it! I can't wait to try it in the new Bosch mixer and see the difference.

    1. Hi Lori,
I am glad you like our bun recipe! I will be making more of them this week.

Back when I homeschooled, there was no such thing as fancy planners and I couldn't of afforded one then anyway.

  8. No planner here either! I am pretty sure it would be more trouble than help to me and I would feel that I had to use it since I spent my money for it. I am glad you are feeling better!

    1. Hi Lana
I like the fancy planners but they would be a lot of work to keep up. I would rather put that effort into some sewing or cooking.

  9. Rhonda I am a list maker. I was born a list maker I think. My Dad always kept (and still does) his notebook by the bed to add to his list in the middle of the night!
I had an Erin Condren one year. I love coloured highlighters stickers and all that stuff. But I would not pay the money again for that expensive diary. So I got a pink bound planner and I have my own coloured pens and stickers and stuff! It is just as good! And al that money I could build up my pantry instead.
If you are a person like us then having your diary/planner/lists etc looking a bit pretty is just more fun. If it is more fun you will use them more = more effective!
This list making helps my days, weeks, months and years hugely! Now back to my to do list for today....xxxx

  10. Rhonda I was fortunate enough to be gifted a beautiful cerise pink leather bound diary with refillable inserts. I love it and it's a pleasure to use. Prior to that though, a list on a long piece of paper like supermarket docket paper was to me, a thing of beauty. So many things to list, and cross off, and feel good about...lol! I love yours....Mimi xxx

So glad you got your Nourished book so quickly. I needed it, too. I may re-read it!

  13. I'm a list writer and have been since I got married 19 years ago. My mind is at peace when I have a list to work from. I use school notices cut into the size I need to fit onto a small magnetic clip board I bought at the $2 shop a couple of years ago.

  14. I am a yellow legal pad lister. My list does't change pages until I have used up a full sheet of double column lists. I simply start my new list right below the last thing on the old. By the time the page is used I have tons of crossed off items. It makes me feel much more productive than I really am. I think the cute planners are adorable, just not for me

  15. I love your list and I think it's cool you made it. Why spend a fortune when you can have fun and do it yourself. Are you ready for this weather to pass? I am.

    1. Hi Valarie,
Thank You! I do like stamping my lists as it really is quick and easy. I'd rather spend my "fortune" on things we need.
That bad weather has passed, yea! And this ppeasant temp and rain today is wonderful.

  16. I love your lists! They always inspire me to work hard. I write a new list each day and I write them on recycled mail, old greeting cards or clearance (think cheap) card stock. I'm not sure I would get anything done without my list!
