Projects from last week, now planning this week

Good morning everyone.  Our weather is cooler than summer but it's not really feeling like fall yet.
I did some simple decorating around our front door.
The wreath is one we've used for several years.
The green balls were picked up by my grands from a tree near the pond at the entrance of our addition.  They are Osage oranges, also called hedge apples.  They are not edible but I think they are pretty and fresh looking.
Big roses are still in full bloom in the flower bed, they look a lot more like spring than fall.
In the master bathroom,  I sewed up a new curtain for the glass block window by the tub.  The valance and wall hanging were used in different rooms at other times,  I think they will stay here for now as I like this look.
I need to see a matching shower curtain for this room too- maybe this week!
I found this cute fall themed washi tape at Dollar Tree and will use it on future lists but for now-
My to do list isn't fall themed yet either.
The red dot tape is from Dollar tree, the designs are made with rubber stamps.

Lots to do this week, so I better get busy now!

  2. Hi Rhonda, I like your Fall themed entry. Isn't it wonderful when we can get some odd jobs (and crafts) done around the house? Countdown now for you to Thanksgiving and Christmas so most of us will be much busier than usual though I've certainly found the year to be very busy indeed.

    1. Thank you Joyful. Yes, USA Thanksgiving is in 6 or so weeks and yes, this is a busy time of year. Life is just busy for us, especially with 2 baby grands in addition to the other 5.

  3. I need to look for the tape next time I am at the Dollar Tree. I know Megan would love it! The hedge apples do look nice and you can't beat free!

    1. I am always happy with free, the grands are proud of them since they helped gather them. I think it is important for little ones to feel like they contribute.
Hope you find some washi tape.

  4. We call the hedge apples Mock Oranges here. I love the way they look and I could use them outside, but not in the house. I hate the way they smell (So far in life I am the only one I know who can't stand their scent though.)

I am going to the Dollar Tree tomorrow and will look for the washi tape.

Now I have to get busy and get something fallish on the front porch. I hate to get rid of the hibiscus which is still blooming like crazy, but it is too summery to go with a fall look. Guess I will move it to the back deck for a bit.

    1. Thank you Anne, hope to find some washi tape. The packs are tiny so you have to look carefully. My husband spotted mine for me.

  5. Everything looks pretty and looking like Fall -love your wreath! They tell me osage oranges help spiders stay away. Have you ever heard of that? I tried it -didn't notice a difference.

    1. Thank you Vickie, I've heard they repel bugs but I can't say I've seen any change.
My husband says his mom used to cut them in half and put them in their closets to repel bugs.

    1. April, I did look up Osage oranges after your comment and they have been used as a medicine by native Americans for a very long time, so amazing!

    1. Laura, it is some cooler here but still almost summery. A frost is predicted for the end of next week and that will be good as it will make the pecans fall :)
