No politics please.
My daughter works at a library at a public school. They had a mock election for the students.
The local American Legion brought over 100 flags to decorate. Hopefully the huge flags inspired and helped the students be proud of their country.
That's our 1st grader Elizabeth posing with the flags. She and little brother JJ were in awe πΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈ
Great pic, and what a great thing to do, to teach about elections and voting. I bet it made a big impression!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet!
ReplyDeleteMock elections are fun for kids. Megan has a field trip to former President Benjamin Harrison's home today. Everyone was in character for the election of 1888. It was interesting!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture!
I'm a school librarian too but in New Zealand - the best job! All my students know my feelings on our current government - glad we don't wave the flag down under as I'm quite ashamed of our country for multiple things at the moment - love the place but not the govt!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!
ReplyDeleteI love letting them know about the election process early. Hopefully as they age they will understand voting is a huge privilege and obligation.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sight and a blessing.
ReplyDeleteI understand your desire not to discuss politics.
ReplyDeleteWhen I did so on my blog, I felt myself jumping into the deep end.
I'm not that kind of girl. I felt compelled by God to do so, and
as my head plunged under water, I felt the bottom and pushed up to
find Jesus was holding me all the time.
I love all the flags, and I love our country. I know you do, too.
God bless you friend!

It's so nice to see all those flags. They always remind me of the sacrifices are dear soldiers and veterans have gone through to keep us free. The one thing I will say about the election is that is was good to see so many people passionate about it!

I remember doing an election in 5th grade. I won't age myself by naming the candidates, lol, but I will tell you that I voted for the one whose name was similar to my best friend's!! I remember it being a really exciting day. I wish I had pictures.
ReplyDeleteI even love the American flag and I am Australian!
ReplyDeleteThe rioters are burning American flags they are being disprestfull makes me wanna cry
ReplyDeleteI agree Debbie. Lots of sad stuff going on here in CA. Sorry Rhonda if that is political but small children are watching and it breaks my heart to think what they may be thinking about our election process.
ReplyDeleteblessings, jill
It is so nice to see your granddaughter respecting the flag.
ReplyDeleteI love all the flags!
