Good afternoon 🌞
What a weekend, right? And that’s all the political talk you will read from me.
This is a homemaking and family blog only.
I didn’t take a photo because it’s not a photogenic dish but I made LiteCraving’s
Copycat Panda Express Chow Mein. ◀️ Click on the blue words to go directly to original recipe and it’s really good! I made it like the recipe except I cut up a head of cabbage instead of using a bag of cole slaw. The only really odd ingredient is the sesame oil and I think it could easily be left out. I couldn’t even taste it anyway. Next time, I’d like to add carrots and maybe mushrooms.
Hope you all are fine
❤️Rhonda
Thanks for the recipe! Sesame oil is so overpowering, I'd probably leave it out too. Hope you are enjoying your summer.

Hi Jane, I think it’s a thrifty recipe and the ingredients are things we most always and it’s not greasy at all like restaurant noodle dishes. We’ve been having very lovely weather that is making being outside so easy.
DeleteI had a bottle of sesame oil that had been in my pantry quite along time- so I’m happy to have a recipe to use it in. Even if it will be just 1 teaspoon at a time ☺️
Hi Rhonda, we have a busy week here with exterior home improvement projects going on, plus going to my mom's house to help her with moving some furniture and other home projects she needs help with, and like you....weed, weed, weed! That chow main recipe looks good. I keep sesame oil on-hand as I have a couple of teriyaki recipes that use it. It really does add a unique taste to a dish - it's very strong. I don't like mushrooms, but I would put in the bean sprouts instead. Did you make this as a main dish, and if so, did you add chicken? I bet it would be good that way, too. Stay safe and well!
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie. This recipe only called for 1 teaspoon of sesame oil and I think it was just very diluted as the recipe makes a big amount. I will put it in again when I make it but I don’t want someone who might want to try the recipe but think the sesame is too expensive to not try it. We had it with leftover baked chicken from the day before and we thought it was a great meal.
DeleteWeeds are always there and always come back, don’t they ? 😱
We love sesame oil! It's fantastic on sauteed green beans or brussel sprouts. If you do much Asian cooking, quite a few recipes call for it. I think it bumps up the taste quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteWeed weed weed sounds about right. Your menu sounds delicioue!
ReplyDeleteWe really liked the chow mein recipe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
I’m glad to hear that. We like it too and it’s frugal and versatile
