We had 2 errands today. The first one was picking up summer lunches and breakfasts from our local school system They pass out a week’s supply at each weekly pick-up.
The second was going to the hospital for my husband to do his pre-op screenings. Both were so pleasant and efficient. I truly appreciate when events like this go smoothly.
My main housekeeping today was doing all our laundry - just 3 loads so it wasn’t a huge task.
Lunch was a stir fry made with normal vegetables we usually have the last of the Texas Roadhouse steak left from that family meal on Sunday.
Simple and very tasty ๐
These pots are in our backyard and are holding deeply discounted plants from the Lowes clearance racks.

They all perked up and really grew once they were transplanted into bigger pots.
Good night everyone
Good night everyone
Hope you all sleep well with sweet dreams

It's always so nice when things go easy! Your stir-fry looks delicious and your plants look amazing! I certainly wish they'd have had summer meals from the schools when my girls were in school as it would have been a huge help to our very small budget at the time. But I'm grateful they are doing it now for kiddos.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of leftovers.
ReplyDeleteNo waste and make something completely different for dinner.
I love buying half dead plants ,trees, and flowers.
I have my driveway planted on both sides with purple spreading lantana. Purchased at lowes years ago for a quarter a pot. It was all in sad condition
My husband thought I was misguided planting it.
But it's now massive and gorgeous.
The drive is also flanked on both sides with stunning purple crepe
myrtles purchased for 5 dollars each . The were just small uncared for sticks in dried out pots.
Now a few years later they are seven feet tall and lush.
Never underestimate the power of TLC, cow poop and water!!
The flowers from the clearance rack look wonderful! God bless you!
ReplyDeleteIt is rare to have everything go smoothly in the day. I love your flowers and the pinwheel.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda :) I'm glad you're back to blogging for now :) I think I'm going to try one of those family meals this week. We have a Roadhouse not too far from here. It looks delicious :)
ReplyDeleteRhonda, your plants look really nice.
ReplyDeleteRescue plants are my favorites. Most often they simply need a bit of water and a tiny bit more room to grow and they bloom and bloom.
ReplyDeleteLook at how those plants perked up. The display is lovely.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Your stir fry looks delicious, Rhonda! Hope all went well with your husband's surgery.
ReplyDeleteI love how you took discounted plants and gave them new life. I need to start doing that! Sometimes they just need water :)
ReplyDeleteCurious about the pick up of school lunches and breakfasts. Do you have to "prove" you have a child in school to do that?
Good luck to your husband with the surgery. Don't remember when it is, but thinking of both of you.

How are you doing? How is your husband? I hope all is well. Felt like 107F outside Philadelphia yesterday. Toasty! I've been meaning to tell you I have made your raisin bread recipe a few times. SO GOOD.
