If you do stuff, stuff gets done list for this week

Good morning everyone!  I didn't mean to disappear for 2 weeks.  At the first of the year, I even thought I would try to blog everyday. Well, that sure didn't happen.
I've had a long lasting cold that has worn out its welcome with me.  I think it is 99% gone and I'm very happy about that and ready to get back to doing what I want to do instead of coughing around the clock.

So, here's my list for this week.  I don't use a fancy planner,  just notebook paper decorated with rubber stamps and washi type tape.  The clipboard is hung on the wall right by the pantry door.
I even added a section for my newly retired husband.  He has been helping around the house but there are a few areas that are bugging me and now he knows.  I don't know about your family but my family has always preferred a list- verbal requests can come off as nagging but everyone likes marking things off a list.

There were several questions asked in my last blog post and I will get to those very soon.

Have a good week everyone!

  1. Ah, someone else who likes a daily sheet on a clipboard! I thought I was the only one. I started doing this over 20 years ago while working as a hospice nurse. It made it easier for me to write nurses notes while at patients' homes and keep everything together. I do have a planner for weekly and monthly items but for daily stuff? Yep, a good old clipboard. I did indulge in a pretty one with polka dots on it, though.

    1. Valarie, if your crew are all old enough to read, I do recommend lists. They sure worked better for my children than verbal requests.
Best wishes to you in getting them on board!

  3. That virus is a real BOOGER! It is what the grandkids gave us for Christmas! Glad you are on the mend. Lists work much better around here, too and are for some reason much more motivating for Hubby and me both.

    1. Hi Lana, my grand children haven't seemed to have this cold stuff but the grown ups sure do. It's a stinker!

  4. Hi Rhonda!
Glad to hear you're feeling better. I like making lists too - I keep a homemaking binder with a notebook for weekly/daily lists. My mind is like a sieve nowadays and if I don't keep a list things just don't get done!

    1. Hi Laurie, I also have a homemaking binder with things like finances, family events, master grocery lists. Etc.
Like you, my mind just doesn't keep track of what it ought to so I am thankful for pen and paper :)

  5. You have inspired me to become a CVS devotee. It is a little easier and about a half mile closer than Riteaid. Glad you are doing better. I have had this crud for almost 2 weeks. Though I feel much better I can't shake the residual cough.

    1. I'm sorry you have this bug too. I've heard from so many people with it and it just lasts so long!
CVS is good for us. I hold you can get good deals for you and your family too. Look at IHeartCVS.com, at YouTube videos like LASavings8 and Facebook groups like couponing at CVS.

  8. Rhonda, I love your day planner. I use a spiral notebook and enjoy it being so casual that I can make messy to do list and throw away when I am finished for the day. SO very sorry about your cough. I was ill through-out the entire month of December and first two weeks of January. Am better, but….still have rib aches and pains with occasional cough. Took Emergen-C powdered drink mix and have read up on Zinc. Think I will get some zinc. It will help with this cold. Keep the air in your rooms moist with a humidifier which helps fight lung problems. Dry air promotes sickness. Well, Dr. d here. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
    Blessings to you,
    d
