Y’all sure surprised me, I wasn’t expecting any comments but thank you all for reading and writing such nice things.
I do hope to blog more so———
I’ll just tell you about last night and today.
3 grands spent the night and it was slightly last minute. It’s just easier to serve kid-friendly meals so we had pancakes with bacon and sausage for Friday night supper.
They jumped right in. Our granddaughter and her oldest brother made the pancake batter and she cooked all the pancakes.
They wanted to play restaurant so they made a menu and took orders.
we don’t always have this many choices but we had chocolate chips in the pantry, blueberries and pecans in the freezer, so why not offer options?
Supper was delicous and the kiddos had fun.
Kroger delivered this morning.
below totaled to about $60.
Before they left this morning, the boys took everything out of the lower kitchen cabinets for me.
that corner cabinet has lots of storage space but it’s hard to get the stuff back out. I’m thankful they could help today.
I organized all the lower cabinets and got rid of a few things.
I’m trying to have less stuff and I am making some headway.
below is Inside some of the newly organized lower cabinets
I really like cooking several main dishes at one time.
I cooked 2 chicken breasts in the crockpot and shredded them.
I removed half of the meat to use in fried rice, with the rice being left from New Year’s day’s traditional meal of black eyed peas with rice and cabbage.
Then I added red beans, corn, onions, bell pepper, green chilies, canned tomatoes and chicken broth to make a Mexican-ish soup.
we ate fried rice tonight and have the rest of it and soup later.
I’ll blog again soon
❤️ Rhonda
A child certainly is helpful in removing things from those spacious corner cabinets!
ReplyDeleteI bet the kiddos had fun! The food all looks so good.
ReplyDeleteI wish my cabinets looked that nice!
Have a nice weekend.
I have a couple of those lower corner cabinets where I have to sit on the floor to get anything out in the corners! Grrrr. Such wasted space!
ReplyDeleteThat’s one thing I want to especially after the holidays is reorganize my kitchen pantry and cupboards. Yours look really nice and inspires me!!!
Nice that they were there to help. Also nice to read you again! Best wishes for 2025.
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to see you back! I made a note of the product that is helping your husband. One thought from today's post is that most don't realize that artificial sweeteners often cause pain because the body doesn't know what to do with them so it stores them on tissues on the body. Most of our friends who have chronic pain are diet soda drinkers.
ReplyDeleteYour evening with the grandchildren sounds wonderful. Ours all live far away so those moments are treasured for us here.
I have one of those cabinets by my stove. Harvey made me some lazy susan type things so I can get at all I have stored in there.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Going through kitchen cabinets is on my list. I have a corner cabinet that is true pain to get into. It does have a Lazy Susan, sadly it barely moves. Hubby has looked at it several times, but nothing seems to help.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lower corner cupboard just like that and it's the worst thing ever. I have to get down on the floor and contort to try and get anything in and out of it. Definitely designed by someone who doesn't cook! lol
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see your posts again!
ReplyDeleteHow fun that the grandkids made supper for everyone. My grands cook for themselves when they're home and Jess is at work. She and I taught them to use the air fryer, and they also can fry eggs in a skillet on the stovetop. I think that's all they're allowed to do when home alone.
I'll start my January declutter and a pantry challenge tomorrow. We had Christmas on Wednesday, and I've been relaxing and recovering from the past month for a few days.
