not too exciting …….

I’m hoping to blog almost daily and I’ve been somewhat busy but it’s not too interesting written down,
but here goes

Saturday,  we had a big pile of laundry.  A little dog was our houseguest last week so we had a bit more laundry than usual.
I’m pretty particular about  sorting laundry ( and nobody is going to change my mind on this).
So I sorted and got it started.
8 loads later,  it was all done.  Our bed was made with clean sheets and blankets and all the laundry was put away.

I made a big salad and peeled a pound of carrots,  the carrots are for snacking or will be cooked with a meal.
At supper time,  my husband went to Chipotle and got a build your own bundle.
It was delicious and we’ve been eating it ever since.

In the sewing room,  I’ve been working on strip quilt blocks.  I want to make 2 matching quilts for our guest room with 2 twin beds.
I finished 1 quilt top in 2025.  I hope to sew all the blocks for the second quilt and then fully finish both quilts, maybe this month.
We will see.

❤️ Rhonda

  1. Yes, to sorting laundry. I find the whites are dingy if they aren't washed separately.

  3. I enjoy reading about every day things. Happy to see your post. PS I like your sewing machine. Are you happy with it? I have 30 year old singer which is still fine, but would like a new one at some point.

    1. Thank you Katie,
I am very happy with this machine and it is fairly new to me but it is not new. It’s an older machine, back when they were made with metal parts and no computer parts. I bought it from Ebay and it was listed as lightly used and just serviced, and it’s been a great machine for me.

  4. I enjoy your posts so much - I get ideas of little things I can do with what I have right now (make a salad and peel some carrots ahead from things that I already have in the fridge, do a little re-organizing of a little section of my home, etc.). It feels like sharing from a friend. Thank you!

  5. Rhonda, that meal looks delicious! I'm taking food to my kids tonight, so that might just be on the menu. Those quilts will be so nice once you get them done. That's something I've never learned to do. Thanks for sharing your day :)

  7. I am also "fussy" about laundry sorting. I usually have 5 or 6 piles in my laundry room on my laundry days. I also only use Tide and make a DIY prewash with it. I seem to react to everything else and can't get Wisk anymore.

The quilt blocks are wonderful. I always wanted a room with matching quilts on twin beds. I think they look so cute.
