We had a slow morning getting around. I baked a Dutch Baby for our breakfast and it was delicious!
No photos but I went to Hobby Lobby for some yarn for my mother.
I also browsed Ollie’s, it’s a few doors down from HL.
I live in Oklahoma, oil country- and in general, the cost of living here is lower than average
But not for home insurance, we have some of the highest home insurance because of wind, fire, tornadoes etc.
After I visited my mother, I went to 2 thrift stores. One had all Christmas things 75%off
I bought the snowmen for our current winter themed tree.
These are all Hallmark ornaments and have the nicest details on all of them.
I don’t think I’ll hang them on a tree but will set them as a little village.
They are very detailed front and back. The bank even has a safe upstairs.

This is a screen shot of another pink checked blouse that I saved 4 years ago.
At the 2nd one, I found this pretty blouse for me. I’ve actually been wanting a pink checked blouse.

Now I have one! And I’m ready for spring.
I rarely do that many errands in one day and I’m rather tired tonight.
hope you all have had a good day

Tried commenting yesterday, but kept receiving an error. Just wanted to let you know, I'm so glad you're back to blogging. I've missed you all these months, I've been reading your blog for so many years now. It's so comforting and soothing to read just everyday chores, errands, cooking, and family. I too, changed one of my spare rooms from a queen to two twin beds for grands and plan to sew a couple of quilts as covers. Can't wait to see your string quilt, I have one of those going also as a side project. Again, glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteI love those blouses! I am always drawn to anything checked or gingham. Love the color!
ReplyDeleteYour dutch baby looks so good! I haven't made one of those in years.
ReplyDeleteI hope your husband's new hearing aids help him, especially with the tinnitus. My son suffers with that, too.
I love the little village houses you found!
Your gas prices are amazing! The lowest price here is $2.49. Our home owner's insurance is also very high - it doubled since last year. We have on our to-do list to start calling around for quotes.
Another thing that's VERY high here (IL) are our property taxes. We have the 2nd highest in the nation. :-(
Love your new pink blouse! That will be so pretty for spring.
Speaking of errands, I am off to do mine. I have 5 errands to do in town today.
I love the ornaments, especially the interiors. Very nice. It looks like you had a busy day.
ReplyDeleteNow I want a pink checked blouse!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Rhonda! I just got caught up on your posts, and started thinking that perhaps I should start posting again. My grandmother used to keep a daily diary of what they did - went to town, friends came over, what they ate - all trivial every day stuff, but kind of fun to look at. Maybe one day the grandkids or great-grands (if we're that lucky!) will enjoy seeing how we spent our time.
ReplyDeleteYour blouse is very pretty. I really like the one you saved years ago and you got a nice match!
I am not a pink person, but that is a very nice blouse. Those Hallmark ornaments are quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Love seeing photos of your meals. Reminds me of ‘90s Taste of Home and Quick Cooking magazines. Your husband looks very happy. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI have never had a Dutch baby! I always think I'll make one but no one in my house is big on breakfast so I never have. Looks so good, you inspired me to try it. Gas where I live in NJ is $3.92 a gallon!
