This week's list and traveling photos

Hello everyone
Below is our to do list for this week.
I printed off a number of recipes about a week ago and I wrote down their titles on this list, I may cook some and I may not.
Easter lunch and egg hunting will be at our home after church on Sunday and I've got a tentative menu planned- but I've already changed my mind and think we will have tabouli instead of the pasta salad.  The ham and baked beans can cook in crockpots and the cold dishes will be ready in the fridge so I'm hoping to have an easy to serve meal with lots of time for egg hunting.  My grandchildren think plastic eggs are super fun.

Last week was spring break in Oklahoma for just about every school.
We took our 2 grandchildren to Branson Missouri for a short vacation.  We stayed at a condo-type hotel and ended up eating most all our meals in our little kitchen-dining area.
On our first day in Branson, we went to Dixie Stampede.  This is a Dolly Parton production with dinner, a pre show with an amazing juggler and the show has lots of singing, horses and beautiful costumes.

On the 2nd and 3rd days we went to an amusement park, Silver Dollar City.  With my husbands military service, we got a very low price on our tickets.
The first day,  it was a pleasant, just warm enough day.
My husband and Gavin like this ride.  The riders shoot water guns at targets and people watching or waiting to ride this ride can shoot back.
Elizabeth didn't ride but she liked shooting water back at her cousin and Grandpa.
This ride would be especially fun on a hot day.

In our hotel, the cousins enjoyed coloring and making Perler bead crafts.

And eating!

Our second day at Silver Dollar City was much much colder!
Grandpa and I didn't even pack jackets so we stopped at the Branson Super Walmart on the way to the theme park.
Grandpa found a windbreaker on clearance and I ended up with a Branson hoodie sweatshirt.  It's not really my style but it was very warm and seems to be the style in Branson.
Gavin had brought 2 warm camouflage jackets so he lent one to Elizabeth.  Both cousins got warm hats at the Walmart.
Riding more rides

On our 4th day, we saw Moses at the huge Sight and Sound theater.  I don't have any photos but it is our favorite Branson theater.  Last year, my husband and I saw Jonah on our Branson trip.
These Biblical plays are so good!  If you go to Branson, we suggest you put Sight and Sound on your must do list.

Our son took a trip to Ireland during spring break.  He shared photos daily though his cell phone app and I got them on my iPad.  Technology is wonderful sometimes!
The Dublin airport decorated for St Patrick's day.
Incredible castles

An old Methodist Church

This round structure made entirely of stone, even the roof, doesn't seem like it should be possible.
The white dots in the background are sheep, of course.

And if you got this far,  I am planning a post of my tips for glue on nails soon.

Have a good week everyone!

  1. Looks like a fun trip! There is a Sight and Sound theater in Lancaster, PA, too.

  2. We enjoy staying at places with a kitchen. It saves a ton of money! It looks like a fun trip.

  3. Looks like so much fun -those Dixie stampedes are a lot of great entertainment! The grandkids look like they had a ball! Now about Ireland those are some wonderful pictures and someday I'm going to go there...Dublin looks like a beautiful place to visit.

  4. We enjoyed Dixie Stampede when we went to Branson several years ago. Everyone knew we were dining with no silverware except my son, and we purposely didn't tell him. He was not happy and still talks about it.

  5. Nice trip, I bet the kids loved it! Ireland looks so pretty. A co-worker went in October and loved it.

  6. How fun! Looks like that's a great place to take grandchildren. Ireland looks beautiful. Always wanted to go. Wonder how they made that roof fro stone?

  7. What a fun trip for you and the grandkids! Making special memories is so important. :) Your son's pictures of his trip are amazing. My hubby and I hope one day to visit Europe and tour through several countries.

  8. What a fun trip for you and the grandkids! Making special memories is so important. :) Your son's pictures of his trip are amazing. My hubby and I hope one day to visit Europe and tour through several countries.

  9. Sounds like a wonderful trip! What special memories!
We love going to Dixie Stampede and Dollywood in Pigeon Forge Tn.
Love the pictures of Ireland. I would love to visit Scotland and Ireland one day.

  10. What wonderful memories you are making for those children. Some day I hope to get to Branson. The Dixie Stampede sounds fantastic, though I misread at first and thought you said 'singing horses'! HA! That would be worth the trip, Easter Blessings, D (still under construction here!)

  11. Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your grandkids in Branson! And your son is so lucky that he's in Ireland. I've never been there; only seen photos. It's so beautiful.

  12. I love Branson. We still haven't made it to the Dixie Stampede. What a dream to go to Ireland.

  13. I'm so happy seeing all of you so happy!

  14. What a wonderful Branson trip. I saw the first photo of you and your husband and knew you had to be at Dixie Stampede. Sure enough. I haven't been in many years, but it was a terrific show. I don't think I've been to Sight and Sound. Maybe someday. Branson is just 1 1/2 hours from Carthage where I live. I didn't realize you were so close. Maybe one day we can meet.

What a tremendous privilege for your son. I'm sure he'll have fond memories of Ireland to keep with him.

    Have a wonderful Easter!

  15. What a fun trip! My children love Branson and especially Silver Dollar City. My mother always takes them every summer. I have actually never been. I would probably love the theater.

I hope you have a fantastic Easter. Oh, Ireland has been a dream of mine since I was a young girl. How neat!

  16. Lovely photos and memory making. Have a very happy Easter! Love Annabel.xxx

  17. Love the photos! Your trip sounds wonderful and I bet it made great memories for the kids!

  18. Hi Rhonda,

You have a beautiful family and I so enjoyed the pictures from your trip to Branson. I have never been there but it looks like such fun.
The pics from your son's trip to Ireland mind me of my son and his wife going there. They did one side of Ireland and then went back and brought my grandson a couple of years ago. It looks so serene and like my kind of place. I hope your son had a wonderful time. I wish you and your family a wonderful Easter.

  19. We have family in Branson. Did you know that their shows have to be approved by a committee? Yep! They have to be God, family and country friendly. My BIL plays guitar in Clay Cooper's show. Looks like you had a nice time.

Thank you for dropping by today ❤️
