December in our home

Son Bobby noticed our home needed some TLC on the outside.
He offered to power wash and paint all of the outside
and he did!
It looks great too.
He is same son that helped us tile our floors just about a year ago.
2011 beautiful fresh evergreen wreath that my brother made.
He makes one for me every Christmas and this is one especially fresh and pretty

and doesn't it look great on the freshly painted entry way?

that wonderful real wreath is how we ended up with this assortment of trees for  Christmas  2011

We own several big green artificial trees but when I set them up,  they looked awful -
just squashed and straggly and not nice at all.

So with Gavin here to help me,  we packed away the green trees and set up these 3 trees.
One is silver, one is pink and one is white.

I like them but I  am hoping to do a big fresh real tree next year.

By the comments from people that have been in our home,
they seem to either really like this tree medley
or they think it is just bizarre.

Gavin and Elizabeth
having a little Christmas fun

and in case I don't get another blog post done before Dec. 25,
Merry Christmas
to you all with love
from Rhonda and Jeff

  7. Rhonda - I love your trees! I knew when I first read that you were doing them that they'd be pretty, but they are stunning. Very retro and just lovely.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  8. Rhonda, count me in on the LOVE side of the trees. I don't know but this may be our last year having a tree at all. So I'm trying hard to enjoy mine this year. I'll start to decorate it this week.

I think the wreath is a lovely thing...and compared to my rough looking artificial trees, I guess I'd be unhappy too to have them with a lovely fresh wreath scenting the air.

    Merry Christmas dear girl.

  10. Hi Rhonda,
Just checking to see if all is well at your house. The grandbabies are so sweet. I just love thier laughs. That sure is a handsome guy there beside you. Miss Candi said Theo she would love to join forces against baths and blow dryers. She got some pepermint marshmellows today so she is a happy baby.
    Hugs,
    Elizabeth

  11. Oh I like the three trees! I'd love to have a white one - we have a real one every year. But for some reason we always wind up getting it on the coldest worst weather day of the season. We're all finally leaning toward an artificial white one. Hopefully I'll be able to pick one up on clearance this year!!

    Have a wonderful Christmas!

  13. Rhonda, I finally had a chance to check your blog out, and I do think the trio of trees makes a very nice display. And I love that wreath your brother made. I would never have thought to pile on the groups of smaller bows like that, and bead garlands seem to be a big thing these days. I need to keep these ideas in mind. I just might have sign up at pinterest and pin it! I am still doing things like I did 25-30 years ago when I worked in Ben Franklin!
