the front door in spring

I took these pictures Tuesday morning
after a nice rain and before I packed away the Easter decorations.

the watering can belonged to Jeff's granddad
I planted the knockout roses last summer.
They are really blooming and smell so good,
but I am not sure why they are not getting much taller
and I am really wondering why the red one seems to be
a ground crawler.

This rose bush was planted by the Dawes,
the previous owners of our home.

I think I am caught up reading your blog. I couldn't figure out why you weren't posting. I always lose a few when I change my blog around. Congrats to the new lawyer.

  8. Your front door area is beautiful!!! How nice that you can enjoy roses, my friend. Would you believe that we have four inches of new snow on the ground and it is below 0 C!!! I am SO ready for blossoming apple trees and tulips!
I have enjoyed seeing your roses, I love the tiny ones as well as the large ones!

  9. I love your front door too! From what I can see of the house I think I would love it as I love arches like in your door, window and transome. The plant stand is adorable too. Is that a rummage sale fine? I am never that lucky. Wanted to comment on the old watering can as I have one very similar. It belonged to my late husband and was one thing his daughter did not take. I am surprised as she was trying to grab all the antiques she could find. But she missed some. :)
