May 1st Yard Sales

Two neighborhoods in my town had yard sales as well as a few single family sales - we went to as quite a few of them starting at 7am. By 9, we were tired and had a full vehicle so we headed back home.
Here's what we bought--

Mary Englebriet cherry crock - 25 cents!

I think these Melamine baby dishes are so cute, they were just $1 for the whole lot

not pretty pink Pyrex like last week, but these clear Pyrex bowls will be very useful $1
2 sippy cups 25 cents each

4 like new bathtowels - 25 cents each - perfect for dog washing

Stacking cup toy 50 cents
assorted books, 25 cents each
salt and pepper shakers - maybe $2?

Little Tykes Slide and rocking horse, also a swing for Gavin.
Outdoor toys were on my list of things I hoped to find and these were all in great condition and very cheap, I think each one was $2,

Theo with the Little Tykes turtle sand box - $5.
Jeff saw the new ones at Walmart for $37.99

Jeff and Bobby hung the swing up from the pergola - and you can see my garden in the background - everything is in pots - more on that later.

I hope you all got out and found some great things at yard sales too!

Stamp Lot from Tuesday Morning

My town recently had a Tuesday Morning open up. It is a really nice, big store with good prices. Sophia has posted many times about neat things she finds at her Tuesday Morning, mostly craft things. I told her about this stamp lot I bought a few weeks ago and she wanted to see picture. All these stamps, along with a big book were in a sealed box and sold for about $14, the box did not tell exactly what stamps were in the box, just kind of labeled as an assortment.

My cashier was also a scrapbooker, she was wondering what stamps were in this box, and since there was not a line of customers behind me, I opened it after I paid for it. The cashier and I both thought it was a really good deal.

If you want to see the stamps in detail, you may need to click on each picture to enlarge it.

This is my stamp shelf at home, I really needed some more stamps, didn't I?

weekend yard sale finds

Jeff, Nina and I went to quite a few yard sales Saturday. We saw lots of junk but we did find a few treasures. I did not get pictures of Nina's things but she got a few baby things, a mirror/planter box she hung in their entryway, a closet organizer and dry-erase magnetic calendar bulletin board.
Our 3 biggest purchases were all from one seller - some newlyweds, just graduating from OSU - who will be moving to Poland to work as missionaries in a coffee shop. They were selling off most all of their possessions. These first 3 things are from them.

3 large glass storage jars, $5 for all 3
I've been using some not so pretty Tupperware for my baking canisters, now I will be switching them to these pretty glass jars.

a very heavy glass, and very pretty bathroom set for $5

Jeff has been wanting a dock for his Ipod and was very happy to buy this one for $10
It works great and he says the new ones sell for $99 at Walmart

2 nice wood puzzles for when Gavin and baby E are both a little bigger - $1 each

Discovery Toy Boomering links - $2

hula girl shirt bought for 25 cents, not for the shirt but I like the fabric and plan on cutting it up, then sewing it in to some other project

He is not from a yard sale, but he was a rescue puppy. This is Fletch, one of our "grand-dogs" and he is spending the night with us. Isn't it amazing how he sits upright on his bottom?
