Hello again

She had Grandpa cut a scrap of wood into the bed mattress.

She also had Grandpa cut 2 old wood thread spools in half to make the legs. She covered the mattress with a scrap of flannel
We’ve been eating but I haven’t taken photos.

there seem to be ‘several empty storage tubs and not that much to deal with.
our week doesn’t look much different than last week so I will just last week’s to do list again and use a colored marker to check off my progress.
The dollhouse has new exterior paint, shingles on the roof, wallpaper and floor coverings inside.
The granddaughter has been here and has had lots of fun arranging things inside.

I sewed the quilt from an inherited small unfinished patchwork piece.

There are many ideas online for dollhouse things. If you’re willing to use your effort and time, many things can be made with scraps and trash items.
We’ve been eating but I haven’t taken photos.
I cooked this Saturday- ground beef from Oklahoma State University seasoned with homemade taco seasoning,
rice and salsa made with tomatoes and peppers from our backyard.
It’s one of our favorites and it’s just as good reheated as it was the first time.

We’ve been cleaning out our attic. It’s not really that bad but I’m just trying to make decisions and not leave a lot to deal with later.

Grandchildren are happy to go up there and bring stuff down so this summer is the time to do this job.

They brought down my Barbies. I played with them lots and then my children with them some

they are looking lots worse with wear.
But our youngest granddaughter has requested them so…….

I read a tutorial on how to hopefully fix their hair. So the girls all have their heads soaking in Downy and hot water.
Ken has hard plastic hair so he will just need a wiping off.
I put all the clothes in a lingerie bag and have them washing on delicate.
Then I plan to spread them on a towel and let them air dry.
I’ll let you know how it goes.

It’s hot here! but that’s very normal for July in Oklahoma.
Hope you are all fine

July 10- -
Hello again,

Can any of you tell what this is?

it’s been a busier week with errands and appointments, athletic practices- most involving grandchildren.
One night this week was an evening football practice one town south of us
we were given a bag of old crayons, so of course we looked on Pinterest

These projects look pretty cool, don’t they?
I’m not impressed with how ours turned out. We glued down peeled crayons onto canvas boards and melted them with a blow dryer.
we also tried sitting the canvases on easels in the very hot Oklahoma sun with a magnifying glass.
Neither really melted the crayons in an attractive way.
So Marine Grandpa got out some real fire

He certainly melted the crayons but I don’t like his results either.
But the kids do like their art and they really liked the fire.
Can any of you tell what this is?
a 12 year old so happy to shoot a rubber band with his hand.
He had so much fun with a rubber band. And yes, he knows not to shoot people, just a target or knocking over a small empty box.
we’ve been enjoying really good summer fruit- nothing dance- just watermelon, cherries and strawberries all from Walmart.
Hope you’re all having a good week
❤️

Monday July 7 doings
Hello again everyone
I had a couple of appointments this afternoon so I stopped at just CVS.

I made a to do list for this week last night

I want to do more sewing and I got started on that mid morning.
I watched/listened to a few CVS mega coupon shoppers. They really buy lots and do it way more complicated than I do.
I had a couple of appointments this afternoon so I stopped at just CVS.
My total before digital coupons and last weeks Extra Care Bucks was about $40
I paid $10.39 and have $12 Extra Care Bucks for next week.
I don’t wear lots of makeup and I don’t wear makeup everyday but I had used up my only eyeshadow and my mascara seemed empty
so I am very happy to have new ones,

I’ve had a few questions about the Kiss press on nails I wear.
They recently improved their glue and it really holds!
I don’t buy my nails at CVS but I looked at theirs.
They had lots.

The new nails seem to have this improved logo I circled below.
And if I was buying nails, I would look for it.
Supper wasn’t pretty but it was easy and delicious.
I stir fried an onion, 2 bell peppers and a little cabbage.
then I added about 1 1/2 cups leftover cooked rice, soy sauce and 1 thinly sliced leftover steak for July 4th,

My husband has a collection of gnomes in front of our house.
They were looking very faded from sun and weather.

I asked him to repaint them and he did.
For the last year or so, sitting in a straight back chair was out the question for him.
So we are both thankful he can do normal activities for now.

The gnome on the left is before he repainted it.
Don’t they look happier now in their fresh paint?

Hope you all have had a good Monday

July 5th
Nobody can see this flower bed in our backyard. On one side is the 6 foot fence and on the other side is our giant concrete tornado shelter.
I think we grew green beans in it a few years ago.
This year I planted zinnia seeds, and for good measure, I added some Oklahoma Wildflower seeds I picked up free from our local library, maybe 2 years ago.
The zinnias grew and the wildflower seeds really showed out!
I’m not sure these are actually wildflowers though, I’ve lived in Oklahoma since 1991 and none of these are things I see growing wild.
But whatever they, they are pretty!
there are wild sunflowers growing along roads and in rural areas but they are much smaller.

Google lens says this blue is Borage

Zinnias in a different bed.

Zinnias in a different bed.
our neighbors can’t see them but the bees and butterflies can.
And would you believe there is a Robin sitting on the nest again?
They usually take a few weeks to lay and hatch their eggs.
they are little messy but we enjoy watching them.
Hope you all are having a good weekend
❤️ Rhonda
