thoughts on Monday

July is the time to buy whatever school supplies you might need for the coming year. Sale prices are low right now.

This is my 3rd year to get the 70 page spiral notebooks for 10 cents each at Big Lots. I make all kinds of lists in a spiral, everything for my daily to-do lists, grocery lists, bill paying schedules, gift ideas.

I also like to stock up on glue sticks for craft projects when they are on sale for back to school but have not done that yet.

any school supplies you like to stock up on for your home?

these 2 pictures are not good but they are the best I can take right now. My digital camera gets lots of use and is acting up, whenever I rotate a picture, it disappears - so I can only take horizontal pictures and not vertical ones.

These are my aprons. I just finished sewing 4 of them. It takes me longer to finish things than it used to but after about 3 weeks of sporadic sewing, I finally finished them.

I have them hanging on a coat rack in the laundry room. I guess I have 7 aprons now, one for each day of the week!

oh, and I am getting a new camera this week. Just have to decide which one and where to buy it.

  1. This is the time to stock up on items you need around the house. a couple years ago for a Christmas gift I purchased a smaller tote and filled it with (most items 3 of everything) crayoms, paints, colored pencils rulers, scissors, doodle pads, construction papaer, glue sticks, play doh and some kits and it was a gift to my 2 nieces and nephew. They were like 6, 4, and 3 then. Stuff was really cheap and they loved it.

I love the aprons!!!! I always thought a full apron would be nice.

  2. I'm with you. I love stocking up on school supplies when the prices are so low.
I like to make a list of my son's needs in early June and pray about them. He needed a new lunch cooler and my husband received a free one at work. (Thanks Lord!)
Aside from what my son needs, I usually get a ream of copy paper, white glue, nice pens and sometimes markers. It's more fun than Christmas!
We have been blessed with so many nice hand-me-downs that my son only needs socks, underwear and tennis shoes for the school year.
    Have a blessed day.......Denise

  3. I usually buy school items to go in my Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Last year I forgot to hand in the boxes until it was too late, so I already have them for this year. I WON'T forget it this time.

Your aprons are really nice. It takes me forever to get any sewing done lately.

  4. I love your aprons! Having little ones and company really slows down your projects doesn't it?
