The bananas are ripening. I ate the ripest one today and it was delicious
But about the experiment. I am not doing it right.
I should have 2 equal banana bunches with one in the keeper and one on the counter to really tell how the box affects the ripening speed.
Maybe after this snowstorm is over, I’ll try it that way for a more scientific result.
In case your wondering, this box is different from an ordinary plastic food storage box.
The lid is thick and kind of like a honeycomb

I wondered how you could compare without a control. At any rate, bananas is the same bunch are different colors, just slightly but enough to ruin any comparison...lol. So, is the top solid at all? I wonder what the honeycomb does.
ReplyDeleteYes you should. Hurry and run out and get another two bunches. We inquiring minds need to see this. :)
ReplyDeleteif you seal bananas in a plastic bag excluding as much air as possible, it will extend their shelf life. I keep them in a cool room and out of sunlight as well. Will last 2 to 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteA control bunch for the trial did not even occur to me! You're so smart!
ReplyDeleteRhonda, I've been in grief recovery mode for close to a year now and have not been online as much. I visited your blog for the first time in quite some time today and was so delighted! It was like getting reacquainted with an old friend. I had forgotten what a beautiful and helpful blog you have! Keep up the good work, your efforts are appreciated!
